A
self-taught artist, Jocelyne began exhibiting her works in 1990
Manotick, Ontario where she resides with her husband and daughter.
There she participated in the Spring Art Show, and the Fall Juried
Show. After considerable success in Manotick, she submitted her
works for jury in 1992 and was accepted to show in the Rideau
Art Festival. Jocelyne continued to exhibit and enjoy much success
in the regional art scene.
In the fall of 1994, her husband's work took her to the Netherlands
and then onto the Middle East where she continued to paint and
sell her works in private showings.
Having recently returned to her home in Manotick, Jocelyne has
re-established contacts with the Manotick Art Association, where
in the 2002 Spring Art Show she was granted the "Best in
Show" award. This year, she also adds to her venues, the
Ottawa Art Festival (juried show).
Her early works were often compared to that of A.J. Casson, however
after many years overseas studying the work of European Masters
and that of her contemporaries, Jocelyne's work has a unique blend
of old and new that is truly her own.
