Jean Eid

The third child in a family of 4 brothers and 5 sisters, at the age of 18 Jean's sense of adventure led him to Canada leaving behind his childhood home in Mount Lebanon. Settling in Hamilton in 1974 he met Donna, his future wife. Three years later, they married and moved to Ottawa. They have a daughter attending Carleton University and a son at St. Patrick High School. Jean's hobbies include golfing, travelling, and sketching female portraits.

As he was a professional hairdresser, Jean was able to develop his signature style, traditional with a touch of modernity. In 1982, he successfully finished an IT course and in 1996 he graduated from Algonquin college with a diploma in Marketing. Even though, he has been working as an account Manager for Nova Networks, Jean always had a talent and passion for art and in recent years has focused his attention on a painting career. Painting with oil based media; Jean strives to capture the beauty of contrasting highlights and lowlights in architecture, still life, and floral arrangements.

Jean recently created the website www.impressionist.ca to enable other artists who attends with him the Philip Craig Art Studio to display and market their work online. His oil paintings of architecture are currently on display at the Koyman Galleries and at B-4-Arts Galleries. Additional art works can be viewed at www.impressionist.ca.
